FIELD ATLAS / DRAFT 001 / OCT 24, 2026From the Abundent workbench ↗
Waseca, Minnesota / A proposal, not a partnership

The grocery
is already growing.

Farms. Kitchens. Markets. Delivery routes. Food shelves. Co-op knowledge. What if we connected the pieces before deciding which pieces still need a building?

The obvious next experiment

Start with a neighborhood's existing hands.

Don't pick between “no store” and “full store” just yet. Learn what can work producer-direct, with existing licensed businesses and routes, while the co-op pursues its own feasibility study. Ope, there's a practical pilot right there.

01 / LISTENAsk the committee

What are you already studying? What help is welcome?

02 / INVITEAsk producers

Who is interested? What products, boundaries, and capacities?

03 / AGREEDesign one handoff

Confirm seller, legal handling, pickup and real consent.

04 / RUNOne small cycle

Explore a 3-producer, 20-household, 4-week trial only if approved.

05 / RETURNPublish lessons

What sold, what cost, what failed, what is still needed?

The one ask for Sunday

“Would a small, independently operated producer-direct pilot help answer your existing five feasibility questions — and who should approve or stop it?”

Three lanes / never blur them

One town, three distinct kinds of work.

01 / COMMERCE

Grow & sell

Licensed sellers, producer-direct orders, storefronts, pricing, inventory and payment. Each seller controls its own goods and records.

02 / CARE

Rescue & share

Food shelves, donation channels and food-rescue partners use their own eligibility, safeguarding and food-handling rules. Aid is not commerce.

03 / COMMONS

Meet & learn

OFFER / NEED / BUILD / QUESTION cards, introductions, consented referrals, one small accepted task, and honest reports. An idea is not a commitment.

Today's Abundent experiments / an honest systems fit

Same network. Different useful tools.

These are independent building blocks, not features installed in the co-op. A group adopts only what helps, with its own consent and control.

OFFER / NEED / BUILD / QUESTION

Cards / Right Hands

Discover what's present and missing. Carry one bounded ask back to its owner, without pretending that a match is a commitment.

INVITATION CHAIN / SEVEN DAYS

One Table, Many Homes

Pass an invitation by link or paper. Meet, talk, report what happened, and let the next host choose whether to continue.

GEOGRAPHY / RELATIONSHIPS

Abundent CONNECT!

Explore the independent organization map; use voluntary introductions, not automatic organization membership.

Visit CONNECT! ↗

STEWARDSHIP / FULL MEASURE × GrO

Real-world quests

Food-waste reduction, reuse and ecology tasks could become human-confirmed, non-transferable learning achievements—not labor quotas or financial claims.

QUESTIONS / JAR-VIS

Ask, don't appoint

Prepare a plain-language project question and a proposed next move. Only real organizers may accept or redirect the proposal.

RECEIPTS / reLATTE / GRAFT

Return the evidence

Separate introductions, proposals, approvals, activity reports and recipient confirmations. Keep references and uncertainty attached.

Research cards / all leads uncommitted

The living node stack.

Read one card, ask one question, make one permitted introduction. Every card links to the public evidence we checked.

Say it plain / Minnesotan optional

“Don'tcha think, though?”

“You folks are building a community grocery. Turns out we already have a pile of its parts right here — farmers, kitchens, markets, drivers, and care networks. What if we help those parts work together now, then let real demand show us what building we actually need? No takeover, no new middleman. Just one useful pilot. Don'tcha think, though?”
Existing Static Collective doors

Connected, not absorbed.

This field atlas sits beside today's Abundent experiments. The invitation and handoff prototypes support meeting people and documenting a consented question. They do not become an official checkout, aid intake, or organization membership system.

No accounts, payment collection, public name capture, donation processing or implied endorsement on this field-atlas page. Links are experimental entry points and may require testing.
